January Smeared & Smudged Sketch Challenge!

Participate and get a chance to win a unmounted rubber stamp sheet from Faerie Song Rubber Stamps, who is sponsoring this month's challenges!

The rules of the challenge are simple, just use the sketch below as inspiration for a card. When you've completed your project, go to Smeared & Smudged's Very Sketchy forum, add a comment containing either a picture of your project or a link to your project on your blog. Be sure to label your post with "January Smeared and Smudged Sketch Challenge" if you are providing a link. Also include your name and email address.

At the end of the month, all of the entries for the Scrapbook challenge, Card challenge, and Faerie Song Challenge in the Fairy Fantasy group will be combined, and the winner will be chosen by Random Number Generator at Random.org. You have until the last day of January to enter. Winner will be chosen on February 1, 2010. You are allowed one entry for the scrapbook sketch, one entry for the card sketch, and one entry for the Faerie Song Challenge, which gives you three chances to win.

Here's the sketch by the fabululous Kelli!

Here's my take on the sketch!

My card measures 5" x 7".

The Mona Lisa image is from Lost Coast Designs. The sentiment and crowns are from Cat's Life Press.

The Mona Lisa image was stamped on pink patterned paper and colored with Copic markers. The red crown patterned paper came from Terra (Thanks Terra!). The black, red, blue patterned paper is from Rusty Pickle.

The crown was repeatedly stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Chinese Red embossing powder (Ranger), which has gold flecks in the red to add to the glitter factor. The sentiment and smaller crown were stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Queen's Gold embossing Powder (Ranger).

Fancy borders were cut with a die(Spellbinders) from gold paper (Recollections) and layered over black glittery vellum weight paper. The gold pearls are from Michael's.

Thanks for visiting today!
